Day Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Bucharest & City Tour (50 km) : The tour begins and ends in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, home to two major international airports: Henri Coandă International Airport (Otopeni) and Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (Băneasa). The city is also a key railway hub, with Gara de Nord, the largest train station in the country, connecting Bucharest to major domestic and international destinations.

Main Attraction:

• Palace of Parliament  – The second-largest building in the world, a monumental structure symbolizing Romania’s Communist past. (Optional guided tour)
• Arch of Triumph – A grand landmark celebrating Romania’s independence, inspired by the Arc de Triomphe in Paris.
• Lipscani Street (Old Town) – A lively district filled with historic buildings, cozy cafes, and vibrant nightlife.
• Revolution Square – The heart of Romania’s 1989 revolution, featuring key landmarks such as the former Communist Party headquarters and the Memorial of Rebirth.
• Victoriei Avenue – The city’s main boulevard, lined with elegant buildings, cultural sites, and luxury boutiques.
• Cotroceni Palace – The official residence of the Romanian President, surrounded by lush gardens and historical significance.
• The Press House – A massive Soviet-era building that once housed Romania’s Communist propaganda press

Day 2: Bucharest - Ploiesti - Sinaia - Brasov (190 km): After breakfast in Bucharest, we depart towards Transylvania, a region famous for its medieval cities, stunning castles, and breathtaking mountain landscapes.

Route: Bucharest → Ploiesti → Sinaia → Brasov

Main Attraction:

• Peleș Castle – Nestled in the Carpathian Mountains, this Neo-Renaissance masterpiece was the summer residence of Romania’s royal family. With its fairytale-like architecture, lavish interiors, and scenic surroundings, it is considered one of the most beautiful castles in Europe.
• Sinaia Monastery – Founded in the 17th century, this important religious landmark features stunning Byzantine-style frescoes and a peaceful courtyard. It played a key role in Romania’s spiritual and cultural heritage.
    Midday Scenic Drive Through the Carpathians: Enjoy a panoramic drive through the spectacular Carpathian Mountains, passing picturesque villages and dense forests. This route offers breathtaking views and a chance to experience Transylvania’s natural beauty

Afternoon Free Time & Overnight in Brașov: after exploring Brașov, check in at Boutique Hotel Bella Muzica 3*, a cozy and elegant hotel located in a historic building near Council Square.

Day 3: Medieval Brasov & Citadels of Barsa Land (60 km): Wake up in the heart of Transylvania and get ready for a day filled with medieval history, legendary castles, and breathtaking views.

Morning: Exploring Brașov’s Medieval Treasures:

• Black Church – Start the day with a visit to the largest Gothic church in Eastern Europe, famous for its towering architecture, stunning stained-glass windows, and a remarkable collection of Anatolian carpets.
• Council Square (Piața Sfatului) – The lively heart of Brașov, surrounded by colorful baroque buildings, historic cafés, and charming terraces.
• Rope Street (Strada Sforii) – A fun stop at one of Europe’s narrowest streets, originally used as a passageway for firefighters.
• Catherine’s Gate – A beautifully preserved medieval gate from the 16th century, once the main entrance for Romanian merchants and travelers.
• White and Black Towers – Climb up to these medieval watchtowers for panoramic views over Brașov’s historic center and the surrounding mountains.
• Weaver’s Bastion – One of the strongest defensive fortifications of Brașov, now home to a museum showcasing medieval weapons, armor, and local history.
   

Midday: Journey to Bran – The Land of Dracula: depart from Brașov and take a scenic drive through the Bârsa region towards the legendary Dracula’s Castle.

• Bran Castle (Dracula’s Castle) – Explore one of Romania’s most famous landmarks, linked to the legend of Vlad the Impaler. Walk through its secret passages, medieval rooms, and eerie corridors, while enjoying breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. (Optional guided tour)
   

Afternoon: Return to Brașov & Free Time: Stroll through Brașov’s charming streets, enjoy a coffee at a local café, or visit the city’s artisanal markets.

Day 4: From Medieval Fortresses to Sighișoara – The Pearl of Transylvania (150 km): Today, we journey deeper into Transylvania, exploring some of the most remarkable UNESCO-listed fortified churches and ending the day in the fairytale town of Sighișoara, the birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for Dracula.

    Morning: Departing from Brașov to Prejmer: one of the best-preserved fortified churches in Romania, dating back to the 13th century. Originally built by the Teutonic Knights, it features impressive 4-meter-thick defensive walls, hidden chambers, and a unique circular design.

     Midday: Exploring the Saxon Heritage in Viscri: one of the most authentic Saxon villages in Transylvania, famous for its white-washed church, traditional houses, and unspoiled rural landscapes.Visit the Mihai Eminescu Trust, an organization dedicated to preserving Saxon heritage.Discover Viscri’s traditional crafts and local lifestyle.

Scenic Drive to Sighișoara – Enjoy stunning views of rolling hills and medieval villages as we travel deeper into Transylvania.

 Afternoon: Arrival in Sighișoara – The Best-Preserved Medieval Citadel in Europe

• The Clock Tower – The most iconic landmark in Sighișoara, offering panoramic views over the citadel and housing a fascinating history museum.
• The Covered Staircase – A medieval wooden staircase leading up to The Church on the Hill, a Gothic church with stunning frescoes and a mysterious crypt.
   
• Dracula’s Birth House – Visit the house where Vlad the Impaler (the historical Dracula) was born in 1431. It now houses a medieval-themed restaurant and museum.
   

    Evening: Medieval Dinner in Dracula’s Birth House: experience an authentic Transylvanian dinner inside Dracula’s Birth House, where you can enjoy local specialties in a historic medieval setting.

Overnight: Sighișoara (Casa cu Cerb 3*), a charming hotel located inside the medieval citadel.

    Day 5: UNESCO Heritage Tour – Saxon Fortresses & Medieval Cities (160 km): Today, we travel through the heart of Transylvania, exploring UNESCO-listed fortified churches, colorful medieval towns, and the historic city of Sibiu.

Morning: Departing from Sighișoara to Biertan: one of the most impressive Saxon fortified churches in Transylvania, featuring triple defensive walls, a unique matrimonial prison, and stunning Gothic architecture. This was the seat of the Lutheran bishops for nearly 300 years.

   Midday: Medias & Valea Viilor – Saxon Heritage & Hidden Gems

Medias – A charming medieval town known for its:St. Margaret’s Church & Tower – A leaning clock tower with Gothic and Renaissance elements.Franciscan Church – A beautifully preserved medieval church with Baroque influences.Stroll through the colorful Old Town, admiring its charming Saxon architecture.

   Day 6: Sibiu & Surroundings – Exploring the Cultural Capital & Saxon Heritage (60 km): Today, we dive deeper into Sibiu’s medieval charm and the traditions of the Saxon villages. The day includes a guided city tour of Sibiu, followed by visits to fortified churches, local markets, and Romania’s largest collection of glass-painted icons.

  Day 7: From Transylvania to Wallachia – A Royal & Scenic Journey (290 km): On our final travel day, we cross the Carpathian Mountains once again, leaving behind Transylvania and heading into Wallachia.

 Morning: Departing from Sibiu to Curtea de Argeș: Scenic Drive through the Carpathians enjoy breathtaking mountain landscapes as we descend into the southern region of Romania. Curtea de Argeș Monastery – One of the most beautiful and legendary monasteries in Romania, featuring a unique blend of Christian and Islamic architectural influences.

 Afternoon: Return to Bucharest: enjoy some free time to explore the city at your own pace. Relax at a terrace in the Old Town (Lipscani Street)
